Candy Corn
Create a new image. The size does not matter much but I will use 200x200 for this tutorial. Press D to set the foreground and background colors to their default. Press Alt+Backspace to fill the image with the foreground color (black). Using the Polygonal Lasso Tool, create a triangular shaped selection.
Press Q to change to edit in Quick Mask Mode. This allows you to edit the selection you just made using filters and tools. Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur with a radius of 10 pixels.
Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast and slide the Brightness bar to -100 and the Contrast bar to about 97 or 98. Careful not to slide it all the way to 100 as your candy corn may end up with rough edges.
Press Q again to return to Standard Mode. Create a new layer and press Ctrl+Backspace to fill the selection with the background color (white).
Now apply the following Drop Shadow, Outer Glow, Inner Glow, Bevel and Emboss, and Gradient Overlay settings to the layer you just created.
Some adjustments might need to be made to the Bevel and Emboss settings if you started with an image larger than 200x200 pixels. Though if you followed the steps I took and started with a 200x200 image, you should end up with a pretty realistic piece of candy corn.
I added a very very faint Texture to the Bevel and Emboss as well as made some edits to the shape of the candy corn to give it an even more realistic look. Check out how mine turned out.

Ronnie, try starting with a more narrow triangle. It may make the candy corn seem less flat and more realistic.
